Where two or three are gathered together in my name

Hello, This week was pretty great. We had a zone conference with President Bangerter, the President of the Philippines Area Presidency; baptisms for Jerome, Ryan, and Eliseo; continuing to find and teach people; and being called on to talk in sacrament meeting right before it started, first time that has happened in my mission haha, so it was an exciting week. Tuesday was alright. After some lunch, we then visited several people near the church building. In front of the church, there are a couple small streets/"compounds" where a bunch of members apparently live, but they're nearly all less active/inactive, so we visited a lot of them and learned who they were and where they live so that we can visit them again in the future. Afterwards, we tried to visit Renato at his barbershop, but he was busy, so we instead headed to meet Gloria, someone Elder Secillano has met before, but it was my first time meeting her. It all went well; she's been taught by missionaries befo...

Thou must open thy mouth at all times

Hello, This week has been pretty good. I arrived safely here in Mallig with my companion, Elder Secillano, and we've been able to introduce myself to the various members/people we're teaching, find some more people to teach, and prepare some kids/teenagers for their baptisms this coming Saturday and at the end of November, so it was a pretty busy and pretty good week. And as the title suggests, I've been finding myself becoming more talkative/willing to talk to those we meet over the past several months and especially over the past week or so (who would've thought haha), which I'm very grateful for, and I'm grateful for the grace and strength that God continues to give me (and will continue to give you as you continue to seek Him) to help me bless the lives of others and become who He wants me to become. Tuesday was transfer day, always interesting, busy, and fun haha. We had some breakfast with the Echague Elders, and then Elder Anor and I headed to Alicia to...

Ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost

Hello, This week was pretty good, it was a good week to end my time here in Jones (yes, spoiler alert, I'm being transferred haha). Romarilyn got confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and received the gift of the Holy Ghost, a couple members of the Bulan family accepted an invitation to be baptized, and we met the family of Sister Elaine who are interested in meeting with us, so good things all around. Tuesday was ok. In the morning, we had a zoom companionship study with our zone leaders, which went alright. After some lunch, we visited Monalisa and Violeta, which went pretty well, we talked about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon and they seemed at least a bit receptive to it, which is all we can ask for haha. We then walked for a while to briefly visit a less active member, and when we walked all the way back to another member's house to ask where another inactive member lived, they told us that he lived all the way back where we came haha...

He began to be scorched with a burning heat

Hello, Sorry that I wasn't able to send an email last week haha, that's my bad. This week was alright; I got pretty sick with a high fever and headaches, but it all worked out, and I'm feeling mostly better now, and General Conference and Romarilyn's baptism this weekend went pretty well. Tuesday went pretty well. We first met with Monalisa, one of the women that came to the chapel open house last week and that we were able to meet with and give a Book of Mormon to on Sunday, which went well. We then met with Glenn, a guy that came to the open house, and his wife, Karen, which also went well, but they (mostly he lol) talked for an entire hour before we even shared a message haha, I think we talked 5% of that whole interaction lol. He actually grew up in Washington for a bit, and he's heading back to the US in a few weeks for a little bit, so we'll see what happens, but they seem interested, which is nice. We then headed over to Romarilyn's for Nick's b...
