The spirit of the Lord caught away (Elder Enger)

Hello! How are you guys doing? It has been a good past couple weeks, and thanks for the birthday wishes! We're working with Joy (her husband is a member) and her daughter, Marjorie, and this week, we met some of Joy's grandchildren. Not only did they all come to church yesterday, but Joy will be preparing to be baptized on May 6! And Marjorie and the grandchildren will likely be following her lead as well, so we're super excited for them and their family. Irene, an inactive woman that we've been trying to help come to church, also came yesterday, which made us happy to see. We also continue to find some wonderful part-member families, and even if some of them didn't come to church yesterday, we're confident that they will be able to come in the next few weeks. Bella (the daughter of a member) also got baptized and confirmed, so that was awesome, and Rosalinda, Rosemarie, and Rossgray continue to do great after their baptism; they're participating in Sunday School, are asking about other people we're visiting or people that they know in the Church, and they even basically taught the lesson for us when we visited them after church yesterday haha, they're awesome to work with. Sorry, this email's going to be a short one because I still need time to pack haha. That's right, I'm being transferred, and I'm going back down to Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya! For those observant fans who remember my adventures last year, my first area in the Philippines was called Almaguer, which covers part of Bambang, so I'm going back to where it all begin, quite literally to as I'll be in the same apartment that I was in when I first came to the Philippines Cauayan Mission haha. My companion is going to be Elder Gella, he's a Filipino Elder that came in with Elder Gernale (who I trained last year), and he's the district leader for our district. I haven't been informed about whether I'm still the social media head or not haha, so I guess Elder Gardner and I will still be sharing those duties until I'm officially told otherwise, even though we'll be 4-5 hours apart lol. Anyways, my time with Elder Gardner has been way too short, we've had a blast together, and I've absolutely loved Mallig, I'm excited to see what becomes of this branch soon. I hope you all are doing absolutely fantastic, keeping you in my prayers! First week of home MTC

To my adoring fans, Well, I survived the first week of the MTC, so that's exciting. It sort of feels like school except that I actually have a good sleep schedule haha. On Monday, I woke up and had a large group meeting from 8 to 9 with all of the incoming missionaries (I think there's over 400 of us), and we just talked about our purpose, gave us an overview of our missionary experience, and got us excited for the work. We had one of these meetings each morning for this first week. My first district class is from 9 to 12, and my second class is from 1:30 to 4:30. There are 4 other Elders in my district, and we were all assigned to different areas of the Philippines. It was during this time when I also met my companions: Elder McClellan and Elder Blauer (with an odd number in our district, my companionship is a trio). Happy Easter! If the title caught your attention, then good, the clickbait worked haha. While we were at one of our member's house for dinner, the young daughter tried saying my first name, but she wasn't pronouncing the "r"s properly (sort of like "pah-keh"), so her older sister and Elder Sabala corrected her and told her not to say it like that because it was a bad word. So there you go, I am a swear word 😂 Anyways, this week has been good, we were able to focus on a lot of people that we're trying to prepare for baptism soon, which has been good for us to taje care of and plan for. On Tuesday, we had district council, which was fun. There were a few birthdays in both districts, so we decided to meet together for birthday potluck for lunch and then split off into separate district councils, which was fun. Ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost

Hello, This week was pretty good, it was a good week to end my time here in Jones (yes, spoiler alert, I'm being transferred haha). Romarilyn got confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and received the gift of the Holy Ghost, a couple members of the Bulan family accepted an invitation to be baptized, and we met the family of Sister Elaine who are interested in meeting with us, so good things all around. Tuesday was ok. In the morning, we had a zoom companionship study with our zone leaders, which went alright. After some lunch, we visited Monalisa and Violeta, which went pretty well, we talked about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon and they seemed at least a bit receptive to it, which is all we can ask for haha. We then walked for a while to briefly visit a less active member, and when we walked all the way back to another member's house to ask where another inactive member lived, they told us that he lived all the way back where we came haha...
