God has provided...that man, through faith, might work mighty miracles

Hello! So sorry that I haven't written an email for the past few weeks, but it has been an awesome time during this transfer. Elder Gardner has been my companion (he's from Utah), and I'm training him to be the next DFTC/social media leader after me, it's crazy that I've been the social media/technology guy for nearly a year haha, but it seems like it's finally coming to a close. We've been ending the technology career on a bang though; we finally got access to our advertisement budget, so we've started to run advertisements for our page, which have been going so well so far and is starting so many conversations with people to help them come closer to Christ, so I'm excited to pass this off to Elder Gardner and the rest of the social media team, great things will come from it. Speaking of great things, Rosalinda, Rose Mary, and Ross Gray got baptized today! Their baptism was going to be on Saturday, but we moved it to today so that Rose Mary's sister (who's not a member) could attend, and it went so well, it was a really happy experience, and they'll be confirmed on Sunday. The ministering efforts in the branch have also grown stronger as the branch has become more united and as we've been working with the members and leaders and part-member families here in Mallig, and we've just created plans to have a priesthood fireside next Saturday to further strengthen the priesthood quorums here, which is also the same day that Bella (the 9-year old daughter of a previously inactive member who saw us on the street a couple months ago and called out to us so that we could baptize her daughter and help them come back to church haha) will be baptized, so there are lots of great things happening. We've been seeing a lot of success and joy by visiting these part-member families and helping the family members receive the joy of the gospel of Jesus Christ, such as through baptism, while also helping the Church members of the family come back to church and re-experience those blessings again in their lives, it truly has brought us a lot of joy, and it has kept us very busy, from morning up until late evening, so much so that we're barely able to fit in our social media responsibilities sometimes haha. Working with Elder Gardner has been great these past few weeks, I'm grateful to have him as a companion and his willingness to work hard while having a good time, both in person and for our social media team. In other news, for the first week of this cycle (the last week of February), I took a surprise weekend vacation to Manila haha, I'm completely serious. On our second day together as companions, I got a call from President Cobing that I'd be going to Manila to do some visa work, so I ended up leaving Friday morning with two other American Elders in my mission, staying the night there in Manila, doing visa work on Saturday morning, and then flying back early Sunday morning. I'm not going to lie....it was very very nice staying in a hotel for a couple days, and it was quite fun exploring a small section of Manila for a couple days (since they didn't give us any instruction, they just left us 3 Elders in Manila to do what we wanted aside from the visa work on Saturday haha, so we just explored the nearby mall for a little bit and hung out at the hotel and watched an Philippines Area devotional from Elder Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles). I also ran into Elder Maughan (one of the reassigned Tagalog missionaries who was in San Jose with me), Elder Decker (one of our roommates in the Manila MTC), Elder Adzuara (service missionary that I met in Bambang), a couple other members from Bambang (which is where my first area was, Almaguer), and the Sadueste couple (the district president and his wife, who were in the Almaguer branch and who visited some families with me while I was there), so that was pretty neat. The Saduestes actually told me that one of the families I taught (Princess, Christine, and Jenny and their family members who were already baptized into the Church) got all baptized and are now preparing to enter the temple and be sealed as a family for all eternity, and Hermie (a young single adult male we baptized there as well) is preparing to serve a mission as well, which made me happy to hear. So yeah, it was a pretty nice weekend getaway, definitely not expecting that in my mission haha. There's probably a bunch of other crazy things that happened these past few weeks, but with it being three weeks, I've probably forgotten it already haha, and I'm trying to not keep this too much of an essay for you all to read haha. Plus, as usual, I'm short on time for writing at this time lol. Anyways, to sum things up, things are going well so far in Mallig and for the social media team, it's awesome to see, and I can't wait to see what comes from Elder Gardner and his work/leadership in Mallig and for the social media team in the next few months after I leave, we've been having a blast together for the past few weeks. I hope that you all are doing well. Always remember how much God, your Heavenly Father---loves you and wants the best for you. I've felt of His love for others so much lately, seen His miracles in my life and in the lives of those around me, and experienced true joy that comes from Him as I've been serving His children here in Mallig and through social media, so I know that He truly loves you personally and individually and wants you to succeed, and He will help you as you put your trust in Him day after day. Hope you have an amazing week!
