And so were the churches established in the faith
Hello!
This week was pretty good and pretty busy. We had a great zone conference down in Cauayan, followed by some exchanges with our zone leaders the next day (during which, I proceeded to achieve my daily goal of killing the zone leader with me because we ended up walking for about 10 hours straight since we still have no bikes, all the areas we visit are about an hour walk from the center of town, and no one was available for the first little while, giving us little time to sit and take a rest haha, fun times). We've also been able to have a lot of success meeting with a lot of part-member families, many of which came to church yesterday and/or last week, and we're excited to continue working with them and helping them build a stronger connection to each other and to God through Jesus Christ and His gospel.
We were also able to meet with Aida and her husband, Benito, and she will be preparing for her baptism on March 11, so some prayers for her will be appreciated (and her husband may join her in baptism too if he comes to church and keep other commitments we have given him to prepare for baptism, so include him in your prayers as well). We'll also be working with Rose Mary this week and determine her interest/readiness to be baptized as well, and we were hoping that Karen would be able to get baptized, but for some personal/family reasons, it might not be able to happen for a while. However, Karen is still very interested and is committed to coming to church until those issues that prevent her from getting baptized are resolved, and her boyfriend's family (who are all members) have become more active since I first met them and will be helping her to continue coming to church and prepare for her eventual baptism someday, so I'm happy for them.
We also had a great meeting with the Elders Quorum and Relief Society presidencies on Sunday to discuss how to help the branch grow and become stronger, and it's just been amazing for me to see how the branch has changed and become stronger over the past few months. When I arrived, it had seemed to be in a state of decline that had been occurring for a few months or so, with disunity issues and low church attendance. However, this past month has been an absolute miracle for Elder Secillano and I as we've seen the branch become more united and stronger to as it used to be a year or so ago, God has truly blessed and multiply our efforts, and we're excited to see what other plans He has for Mallig as we strive to help it become even stronger as a refuge from the world's storm for the humble followers of Christ.
I hope you all have a wonderful week! Talk to you next week!
