We have walked to and fro through the earth

Hello, How are you all doing? Things are going alright on my end; we're continuing to help Romarilyn progress towards baptism, and we continue to strive to find more people to help come unto Christ, as is the mission-life haha. We also walked a lot this week since we haven't fixed Elder Anor's bike yet, and we wanted him to be comfortable with walking before we immediately went biking again haha. Tuesday went ok. We still haven't received any results from the CT scan yet for Elder Anor after his crash, so we just walked to some nearby areas, no biking yet. We tried visiting a few people, but with the early afternoon and everything, no one was home or available haha, so it was just a lot of walking in the sun haha. After a quick few-minute break to let him rest, we visited the Mateo family, who I was introduced to in my first or second week here, but we haven't met with them since because they don't seem that interested. The visit went well enough, we'll probably visit them again on Saturday. Afterwards, we ran into Nick and so we visited his mom (Romarilyn). Our meeting with her went ok, and it was a good break for Elder Anor after all of our walking, but her younger son was acting up a bit, so we weren't able to share much of a message. It all went alright though. Afterwards, we headed home for the evening and picked up some food for our dinner as I worked on some more social media/DFTC work. Wednesday also went alright. In the morning, we had a training with the Messenger missionaries, which went well. After some lunch, we again walked to some areas near our house. We first met with an older less active member, who told us more about other less active/inactive members nearby and gave us directions to their houses, which we were grateful for. We then visited one of these families, the Raymundo family; only the daughter is a member, and her older brothers and mom are not. We just met her brothers, but they were a bit busy, so we just kept it a bit brief. We then walked to the Macarilay family, a part-member inactive family that we met last week, which went alright. I asked about the dad and youngest son and if the mom would want us to teach them (they aren't members yet), and she said that that would require a huge miracle, literally saying that she would give me a grand award/medal if that was able to happen XD we're up to the challenge lol. Anyways, we'll still visit them next time, and we'll see where it goes, try to help the mother/daughters become active again in the Church, at least. We then visited the Bulan family to give them a prayer since the granddaughter was at the hospital right now for the week, sad. Thursday went well. We travelled to district council in the early afternoon, which went alright. Elder Lewis has taught the other Filipino Elders how to say, "Howdy," which was nice haha. After we got home, we headed to visit some people near Romarilyn, including an inactive member, Roger, and a bunch of people that live in the same compound as him. I think I've mentioned this before in previous weeks, but this is the family/compound that a random kid named Christian led us to, starting a couple weeks ago. He wants us to teach him and his family, but we still actually haven't met his family since they're busy, just his neighbors haha. Our visit with them went well; we first talked to the older grandmother there and shucked (is that the right word? We took kernels off of some corn lol) some corn with her before we talked to Roger and some of the other adults and shared a message with them, which went alright. We then visited a couple others and went to visit Romarilyn, which went pretty well. We still feel like we need to do quite a bit to prepare her for baptism, so we've moved her date to October 8, and we'll be helping her out for the next few weeks. She's doing well with the Word of Wisdom, which is great; we just need to teach her some more lessons/commandments, and she needs to start reading the Book of Mormon and praying more regularly, and then I think we'd feel that she's more ready for baptism. Anyways, after that, we visited their cousins nearby for a birthday party and some dinner for one of the kids, and as we came back, we walked and talked with Noel (Romarilyn's husband) about coming back on Saturday to share a message with him and Romarilyn (hopefully). His is a bit of a funny situation because we haven't taught him at all, but our invitations/meetings with Romarilyn are impacting him as well, even if we haven't really talked with him much until now; he's reading the Book of Mormon on his own (even more than Romarilyn haha), he came to church one Sunday and expressed interest in coming again, and he's even started to not drink coffee anymore, it's pretty neat haha. Oh, and, Romarilyn said that he said that after she is baptized, he will follow and be baptized next, so hopefully it all goes well with them haha. Friday was ok. We had some weekly planning that day, which went alright. Nick met us at our house, so after our weekly planning, we went out to visit the Calimag, Inson, and Bulan families, and.....no one was available haha. We were able to briefly talk with Nanay Sareno about some inactive families/the people she and we have been ministering to and visiting, which was good, but no one else in that area was available lol, so we just headed to get some dinner. Right as we did so, it started pouring super hard, so I guess it's good all of our plans fell through that evening haha. Eventually, once the rain lessened up a bit, we were able to take Nick home, and then we headed home to call some members, people we're trying to teach/help progress, and other social media work, fun times On Saturday, we headed out to meet Nick and a couple of his friends at the bus/van station nearby since we had talked yesterday about going to one of our further areas (through the cornfields), and since he doesn't have a bike, we were just going to take a bus there. Because there were no seats available, I had to stand up, and I literally couldn't even stand up straight because I'm too tall for the bus lol, I actually bonked my head against the overhead handrail a few times haha. We first met with the recently baptized youth (and Audrey, their younger cousin) like we have the past couple Saturdays, which went alright, and afterwards, we tried to visit Karen Grace, but her family (members) said she wasn't there. As we were about to leave to leave to visit our next appointments, the grandpa literally walked over to the little store next door and bought some soda and snacks and said that now we had to stay because he bought snacks for us, so we couldn't leave just yet lol. We were actually able to meet one of his daughters that isn't a member yet, so that was good, and once we finished the snack, we started heading back to the center of town. Eventually, we arrived at the Kongs, a family that we met last Saturday, and as we started to talk to the husband, it initially seemed like things would go well, he had a lot of questions, and was much more active in the discussion that most other people we meet, which I honestly appreciate a bit sometimes haha, but then it just turned into a doozy lol, and we had to keep it from turning into a debate since the spirit of contention is never good to have. Anyways, we might visit him one more time next week to see if it will go anywhere or not, we'll see. After that, we headed to our dinner appointment with Nanay Sareno, which was good, and we headed back home for the evening right as a giant rainstorm hit haha. We also got some ice cream with bread, which was odd, but I enjoyed it haha Sunday was alright. Only Ivhana came to church today, which was quite the surprise since we haven't seen her in several weeks haha, but she unfortunately left before we could talk to her. After we had church and some lunch, we went to visit a part-member family that had been referred to us, but the house we were pointed towards said that they actually live somewhere else haha, so we'll find them someday haha. We then visited Romarilyn, which went alright. She told us about a bunch of recent problems/difficulties, so we talked a lot about prayer, and the Spirit was definitely felt. Afterwards, we tried to visit a couple others, but they were busy, so we headed home for the evening. We then called a couple referrals over the phone, and I had a meeting with the content team later that evening, which went alright. I hope you all are doing absolutely fantastic, and if you aren't, let me know what to pray for because I know that the power of prayer and turning ourselves to our Heavenly Father is real. He will not give up on us nor forsake us; all we need to do is turn to Him and trust ourselves in His loving care, and He will take care of the rest. Have a great week! Elder Enger 1 - We're not sure how this tree fell over 2 - Shucking some corn 3 - The cornfields 4 - Lots of walking 5 - Ice cream in bread
