He fell from off the (bike) seat

Hello, This week has been alright, it became quite an adventure at the end of the week, the past couple days have been a bit crazy haha Tuesday went alright. After some lunch, we headed to the cornfields to visit some people, but most of them were gone/at school haha. We were able to meet with Karen Grace, who is the daughter-in-law of a less active family, and the lesson went alright. Afterwards, we biked back to the center of Jones to meet with Romarilyn, which went pretty well. She told us that even though she hasn't been reading the Book of Mormon, her husband, Noel, actually has been reading it (either the Book of Mormon of one of the pamphlets we've given her), so that was pretty cool to hear, and he said he'd come next Sunday to church, which was also nice to hear haha. We're still not teaching him yet since he's usually busy when we arrive there, but he seems to be opening up more and more and seems a bit more willing to learn with each passing week. The lesson itself also went pretty well, we were able to share some good testimonies and feel the Spirit, the main thing she needs is to continue to follow the Word of Wisdom so that she can be baptized on September 24 haha. We then started to bike home, and we met a kid named Christian, who we've actually run into for the past couple weeks on the street and who keeps saying he wants us to visit his family, but it hasn't worked out yet, and since it was already evening, we told him we'd come by on Friday when we were in the area again. We then got some food and headed home to do some social media work. Wednesday went pretty well. In the early afternoon, we headed over to try to visit the Cristobal family, Jessa, and Helen, but none of them were home or available haha, so we headed to a member's house, which went pretty well. She fed us some caramelized bananas, which are pretty good haha, and we then gave a blessing to her daughter-in-law, who was in a pretty bad accident a couple weeks ago and has recently come back from the hospital. Afterwards, we had initially planned to visit the Calimag and Inson families, but Elder Anor had a prompting to try to find the house of the Macarilay family, a family that the Relief Society president (Nanay Sareno) and her counselor (Nanay Abad) had mentioned to us last week. With the help of a member, Tatay Pang, we were able to find their house and meet their family; the mom and two daughters were baptized several years ago, but the youngest son and the father have not, and the oldest daughter is close to giving birth, so that's exciting haha. We had actually visited the area a while back because Elder Anor remembered meeting a family there, but he couldn't remember where or what their names were, and it turns out that this was actually that same family, so it was a nice miracle to meet them. Afterwards, we then met with Tatay Pang again so that we could come with us to visit the Bulan family, which went pretty well; they continue to be receptive and are enjoying the Book of Mormon and our messages, so now we're just trying to get them to church this Sunday haha. We then came home, had some dinner, and did a bunch of other tasks. Thursday was our exercise-day, we did a bunch of walking XD. We were expecting to have district council with our new district-mates, but shortly before we left, we received a phone call that it would actually happen tomorrow instead. So, instead of district council, we decided to weekly planning today instead of tomorrow, which went alright. We then went with Brother Nick to visit lots of people, but absolutely no one was home or available, so we just ended up walking a lot to different areas of town haha. Eventually, we started to head home for the evening, and we picked up some food on the way at a little side fast-food-esque shop. While we were there, we were able to talk to the woman working there, Jaycel (we've met her there several times before), and we were able to share a bit more about her beliefs and share some brief testimonies/messages, which went pretty well, so that was our miracle for the evening haha. We then briefly visited Romarilyn and Noel, Nick's parents, as we dropped him off, and we set up an FHE with them next Saturday, should be exciting haha. On Friday, we had our district council, where we met the new American Elder in our district, Elder Lewis. He's from Utah, he came out of high school, and he's 6' 6", it's absolutely hilarious to see him next to all the Filipinos 😂 There were times when he would just be staring off into the space because of the heat and the language and everything, and I'd just look at him like, "Yep, I remember feeling that lol", it was good. And whenever one of the Filipino Elders had something to say at district council, the others would always shout "English!" (since, up to this point, our district councils have mostly been in full Tagalog because I can mostly understand it), and it was hilarious to watch that as well. Anyways, pretty comical district council, for me at least haha. Once we got home, us and Brother Nick tried to visit a bunch of people, but like yesterday, few people were home, so it was a lot of walking haha. We were able to meet with Romarilyn for a bit, which was nice, and we later had dinner again at the place where Jaycel works, but there were a lot more people there tonight, so we couldn't share much of a message to her this time. Saturday was pretty wild and pretty stressful/exhausting by the end of the day haha. After some lunch, we visited Nanay Sareno to do some ministering with her and her counselors, but they weren't actually able to go to the place we had originally planned on. Since we still had appointments there, we decided to go there anyway while they worked in another area. We headed through the cornfields to visit the teens we visited last Saturday, which went well; they didn't read the Book of Mormon for 15-seconds each day like we invited them to do last week, so I made sure to pound it in today lol, we'll see how it goes this week. It took a bit longer than expected, and our other appointment wasn't available, so we headed back to the center of town. Along the way, we stopped to get some drinks at a sari-sari, and the guys working there used to be taught by missionaries before, so we said that we'd visit them again next week, we'll see where it goes. We then tried to visit a less active member, but she wasn't available, so we headed back to the church to meet Ron Van and Nick and go to the FHE we had set up on Sunday with an inactive member. Unfortunately, some of them had already started to drink bu the time had arrived, so it was a little awkward haha. We had planned to share a message like a normal FHE, but with some of the inactive family and their friends being drunk or drinking, it was a little difficult/awkward to try to do that haha, and we just ended up talking to some of them for a while. A couple of them even came to church the next day, which was a surpise to be sure, but a welcome one haha. Anyways, the ride home is when things got more interesting; long story short, as we were riding home, Elder Anor lost control of his bike and fell off, hitting his head on the ground and getting some scrapes. It's honestly a miracle that he's not as hurt as he should've been, I was expecting much more worse injuries when I came up to him. He still seemed to be functioning well, I wasn't able to determine if there were any serious issues with his head or ribs (his memory was fine and everything, and I assessed him quite a bit), but I still told him to get some water and rest, and he quickly fell asleep haha, so I'll decided to assess him again in the morning. Right before he fell asleep, he reminded me that I had my Technology Council right at that moment, so I quickly hurried to set it up, and of course our data was failing us, our connection always goes crappy the day I have a Technology Council lol. Anyways, I was finally able to get it running, and the council went alright, and I just did some other tasks/looked up consussion signs/symptoms in case I was missing anything with Elder Anor haha before I went to bed. Sunday was also pretty interesting. After we woke up, I assessed Elder Anor again, and he seemed to be mostly fine, there weren't any immediate red flags or apparent signs that something was dangerously wrong. He mainly had a light headache, had some light pain near his ribs (which I also checked and made sure he didn't bruise his ribs), and felt a bit groggy, which is about expected. Just in case, I texted Sister Cobing about the situation, and President Cobing called us to tell us that the APs would be picking us up. Since he was uncertain on when they'd be able to, we just decided to walk to some nearby areas to visit a couple others, making sure not to overexert Elder Anor. As we were walking to meet Romarilyn, one of her neighbors, a member, called and asked us to give her a blessing (it was her due date for giving birth to a daughter), so luckily, we were already on our way there haha. Right when we finished, we got a call from the APs saying that they were in our area to pick us up and go to Cauayan, so that timing all worked out haha. Elder Escobar and Elder Harrison picked us up with their truck and took us to Cauayan to get a scan for Elder Anor at a hospital, just to make sure there weren't any serious internal problems. Long story short, we arrived there before 4:30pm and Elder Anor didn't get scanned/a check up until 8pm haha, it was a long day. Since it was late, President told us that we'd be sleeping in the apartment above the office, which is pretty nice like a hotel room, it's the nicest place I've been in for a while haha. I still had a meeting with the Messenger team that night, so I had that after we got all settled into the apartment. Anyway, pretty crazy past couple of days haha, but we've made it back to Jones safe and sound, just waiting for the hospital to email us our results back haha. I hope you all are doing absolutely amazing. I just want to offer a quick testimony again of the power of prayer. There truly is power in prayer since you are talking to your Heavenly Father, your perfect and loving Father who wants to help you as His child. I know that as you rely on Him, He will be with you in all things, and He will bless your life as well as the lives of those around you as you pray for them in faith and do whatever you can to serve them yourself. See you next week, Elder Enger
