Time to train again...

Hello, How are you all doing? This has been a good last week of the transfer, and some exciting news for next transfer (beginning on May 4) is that I am training once again haha, so that should be interesting. Tuesday was pretty good. We went to district council, which was alright, and afterwards, we met with Andrei and Brentt and several other kids in this one neighborhood with a couple new members that were baptized last year. The kids were a little crazy lol (they're all younger than 12), but Andrei and Brentt seemed interested and were pretty engaged. We then briefly met a deaf member who was referred to us by the ZLs and another member, and we had a member nearby that was able to translate a little bit for us as we got to know her a little bit. Afterwards, we had some lessons with John Raven and Jorlie/John Lloyd, which went well, and we then met with their cousin (he was baptized a year or two ago) to help strengthen his testimony and help him with some concerns he's had with some external pressure on him and his faith. As we headed home, we saw a fire that was lighting up a rock against the night sky, which was pretty neat haha. Our camera isn't the best lol, so you might have to view it in a dark room and turn up the brightness to see it better haha. Wednesday was also pretty good. The ZLs left to MLC again around noon, and after some lunch, we went to the church so that I could take a couple pictures for our social media advertisement inviting people to church. Afterwards, we were finally able to visit Janssen again, which went alright; he wasn't as responsive as usual, but it was all good, I think. We tried visiting Dona and Clace, but they weren't home, so we then visited Rizalyn to reteach what we discussed last time because the rain had drowned us out, and she didn't understand what we taught her haha, but this lesson went better. We then tried visiting Kim Jordan and a couple others nearby, but they weren't home, so to end the night, we visited John Lloyd and Jorlie again to talk about baptism and explained why it's important, which went really well, they're great. After some lunch on Thursday, we tried visiting Kim Jordan and his brother, Jantzen (recently baptized), but their cousin, Ruzzel (also recently baptized), said that they were both hiding from us. We haven't been able to see Kim Jordan since just over a week ago, so that's a little concerning. We then visited Andrei and Annalyn and Jayrianne (the later two were recently baptized) and a bunch of kids that we met last week that live in their same area, and we then stopped by Aldrin, who told us that he and his brother were busy and that Janssen didn't want us to teach him anymore. Alarmed, we quickly headed over to see Janssen, who agreed to meet us later that evening at 7. We then went to see John Raven to talk about the importance of baptism, which went alright, and after stopping by a couple more people, we headed to see John Lloyd and Jorlie to also teach them about baptism and the Holy Ghost. Afterwards, we joined them for dinner, which was a bunch of "adobo" (curries): chicken, duck, fish, and.......dog! Yep, there was dog meat there 😂 but it was actually alright. Anyways haha, we then tried to visit Janssen again, but he wasn't home. With him and Kim Jordan both avoiding us or unable to meet with us, that's two of our people with baptism dates who may not want to be baptized quite yet anymore, sad. Friday was pretty good. After lunch, we tried to meet with Jordan again, but he wasn't there, so we taught his friends Edward and Aldwin instead. We then met with Rizalyn, which went well, and Dona Ashley and her friends, Clace and Jhayacene. After them, we tried meeting Janssen again, but he either wasn't home or didn't answer, and we tried stopping by Aldrin and Aldred as well, luckily right as it started pouring rain and we were able to take shelter haha. They were busy, but after talking to their older brother (who is a member), we said hi to John Raven real quick before meeting with John Lloyd and Jorlie. After that, met with a family who was the first family that Elder Sabala and I met on our first day here, and right when we were going to share a spiritual thought, the rest of the Elders Quorum Presidency came over to do some work with one of the presidency members in the family haha, so we had a good time. On Saturday, we had exchanges again. The DL, Elder Madrilejos, came to our area with Elder Sabala while I went with his trainee, Elder Zafra, to their area. After some studies and a zone zoom meeting discussing our baptism goals for May and other business, we went to get some lunch, during which we received a call from President to tell us about transfers (on May 4). Aaaaaaand guess who's training again? 😂 oh boy lol. I'll be staying in Almaguer training a new Filipino missionary (there won't be any other foreign missionaries this next transfer, just Filipinos) while Elder Sabala goes to Dupax, the area just south pf Almaguer, while also training a new missionary. So yeah, I'm training once again, it should be interesting lol. Anyways, after that, we walked (we didn't have bikes) to meet with someone that their member had referred to them, but they weren't home when we got there haha, so we just met with the members who lived nearby and waited for a small storm to pass. After the storm, we walked for a long while to another member's house; in their area, the members are pretty spread out, so we had to walk for a long time before reaching them haha, and that took up a lot of rest of the time we had for exchanges, so after we met with that member, we got a ride back to Almaguer to end the exchanges. Sunday was alright. We saw some of the kids we met with Andrei and Jorlie/John Lloyd, which was a nice surprise, but John Raven wasn't there, so about 10 minutes before church began, Elder Sabala asked a member to drive us to his house to see if he was there so we could take him to church, but we couldn't find him. Afterwards, Hermenigildo, the step-son of one of the members, told us that he was ready to be taught by us (he's been coming to church a few times, but his step-mother said to wait until he was interested in having us over), which is great. We tried visiting Janssen, but he wasn't home, and then we visited Aldrin and Aldred to finally teach them again, but they don't seem as interested at the moment, so we need to help them out a bit. After visiting Rizalyn, we went to the western part of our area to meet with the Branch Mission Leader and some of the YW Presidency and YW Class Presidency to minister to a couple young women who have been having some struggles. We then briefly met with Hermenigildo and his family before heading over to our branch mission coordination, which went well. Afterwards, we headed home to send in our weekly reports before I had a social media meeting to schedule our content for the month of May. In the meeting, they also alluded to the fact that I could be replacing Sister Albano as the leader of the social media/Facebook page for our group pretty soon since she has been doing it for a long time, so...that's exciting I guess haha. Hope you are all doing fantastic. Since most of my adoring fans are from Utah, I hope you all are enjoying the fun sometimes-winter-sometimes-spring season while I'm in the middle of the Philippines summer heat haha. See you all next week, Elder Enger
