Then the disciples went...unto their own home

Hello, This week went pretty well. It was pretty busy, we had a lot of successful lessons and contacts with people, and we finally moved into our own apartment, so we no longer have to bike over a mountain in order to reach our area haha. Tuesday was pretty good. We had interviews with President in the morning, which went well, those are always pretty good. We then got some lunch before having district council, and after that, we had planned to visit a couple of our investigators with some young adult members from the branch, but our lessons all got cancelled 30 minutes before we were supposed to meet the members, so we had to quickly scramble a new plan haha. We first stopped by Kim Jordan, who ran away when he saw us, and his uncle and cousin told us that he just wants to play on his phone, darn. We then visited a household with some members of the Church, and one of the women, Michelle (a member), there talked with us told us that we could come back on Thursday to teach her daughter and niece, so hopefully that goes well. Afterwards, we visited another family that is less active in the Church before heading over to teach Andrei. As we were walking there, we passed by a women in our branch who saw my broken umbrella and asked (if I understood her correctly) if she could have it to fix it, which was nice of her. The teaching visit with Andrei went ok, it's just a little difficult when there's a lot of distracting kids around haha. We then picked up some supplies from the store and headed home for the night. Wednesday was really good, but also pretty busy haha (I guess those often go hand in hand in our work lol). After lunch, we briefly met Kim Jordan's uncle to schedule a time for us to meet on Sunday to share a message with the whole family (so that it's not just pressure on Kim Jordan), and then we biked to the western mountains to meet with Hermie. President and Sister Sadueste joined us for our lessons with Hermie, and later Rosalinda, which went really well. Hermie accept our invitation to be baptized on May 28 🥳 We then went over to visit Rosalinda; honestly, Elder Gernale and I were planning on having this be our last lesson with her since she has repeatedly told us that she doesn't want to be baptized, and it's difficult for us to communicate with each other anyways, but the Saduestes completely saved us haha. They were able to communicate/explain what we were teaching so that it made more sense to her, to the point where Sister Sadueste was whispering to me to set a date for her to be baptized. So, I decided to ask her to be baptized, and she said....no 😂 but she agreed to pray about it and ask God for an answer, and she understands what we've been teaching her better, so that's a lot of progress. They were good lessons, but they took longer than expected, so we just had some quick and simple lessons with Rizalyn and Dona and Clace before heading home for the night. Thursday was, again, both busy and good haha. After lunch with President Sadueste, we tried visiting Janssen, but he wasn't there, so we headed to Rizalyn's, which went well. Our phone died in the middle of the lesson, which made the rest of the day a bit rough haha. After Rizalyn, we travelled to visit John Raven with one of the Primary Presidency counselors, and along the way, we passed by Janssen walking on the road. He was busy, so we just briefly chatted with him, but that's awesome that we just randomly ran into him haha. We then met with John Raven and Sister Librero to encourage him to come to church/make friends there, which went well, and we then met with Michelle and her daughter and niece, Cristine and Queenie, and their friend, Yesha. They're a little shy, but the lesson went well, hopefully we can progress them towards baptism and help Michelle and her family come back to church, slowly but surely. After visiting them, we had a good lesson with Jorlie and John Lloyd to encourage them to come to church so that they can be baptized on May 28, and then we headed home for the night. Friday was also pretty good and pretty busy, getting tired of me saying that yet? Haha anyways, once we arrived in Almaguer, we were finally able to meet with Aldrin and Aldred again; it's a little difficult to gauge their interest level right now, and we didn't bring up baptism yet, but they remembered a lot of what we had taught them before and were continuing to follow the Word of Wisdom and Law of Chastity, which was good to hear. We then biked to Rizalyn's to continue to prepare her for her baptism next week. We then tried to visit Dona/Clace, but they weren't home, so we headed to John Raven's to have a quick lesson with him and make sure his mom gave us permission to baptize him (which she did). Afterwards, we visited a part member family in our ward for dinner, and we met their oldest son, Cono. He's been taught before by missionaries, but he's always been busy or other things have postponed his baptism in the past. Today, however, we were able to talk a bit, and he invited us to come over again tomorrow evening to teach him again and "start over from the beginning" for him, so hopefully that goes well. Saturday was the big moving day, finally haha. We forgot to pack last night lol, so we quickly packed everything up this morning before the APs and senior couple missionaries arrived to pick us up for our new apartment. After we got all moved in, we headed over to Rosalinda's for her daughter's birthday, which was nice. We then met with Rogelio, the grandpa of one of the youth in our ward, which went well enough, but there was a ton of wind and debris flying around, making it a little difficult to hear/speak clearly. We visited Jorlie and John Lloyd, and I experimented with showing them a video about Ammon to teach them about missionary work and the Book of Mormon, and then we headed over to Cono's, which also went alright. After some dinner with his family, we headed home to enjoy our first night in the new house and clean/organize it, and I found myself a new pet lizard in the bedroom 😂 On Sunday morning, right after we got ready, our water stopped working, and we accidentally left our food at the ZLs apartment, so we had no food or water today (plus, we don't have a water filter yet, so now drinking water either except for what we have un our emergency 72 hour kits haha), we were basically forced to fast lol. The branch president, President Callangan, gave us some rice later on, and we had dinner with a nearby family, so we survived. Anyways, we tried to pick up John Raven for church, but he said that his mom said that he had a fever and needed her permission to go if she felt he was well enough, so he unfortunately couldn't come today, we'll need to move his baptism into June. Jorlie and John Lloyd came, however, so if they come next week, they'll be baptized on May 28, which is pretty exciting. After church, there was a big storm, and when the rain finally cleared up, we went to visit Kim Jordan again, but he again didn't want to meet with us, and his uncle said that we'd just have to wait for the right time, so we have to stop traching him for now (sad). We then tried visiting a couple more people, but they weren't home, and we taught a brief lesson with Edward, but he wasn't as interested or engaged as he was before either. We had a dinner appointment later that night (thankfully haha) before heading home to send in our reports and prepare for tomorrow since we have a lot of stuff we need to buy so that we can actually live in this house 😂 I hope you all are having a stellar time. We'll be hopefully having some successful baptisms in the next couple of weeks, so please keep Rizalyn, Hermie, John Lloyd and Jorlie, and John Raven in your prayers so that they can receive these blessings, and if there's anything you want me to pray for as well, then just send me an email. See you all next week, Elder Enger
